STC San Fernando Valley is looking for Volunteers!
The STC San Fernando Valley Council is always looking for members who can contribute their ideas and time to the community. This can be a small investment of time, such as suggesting a speaker or topic for a future meeting or assisting the webmaster with changes or additions to the website.
Here are some volunteer positions that are open:
- Treasurer (Open seat on the Council for 2009-2010)
- Website Team - assist the webmaster with new content
- Newsletter Contributors - articles, events, training
- Newsletter Editor

STC Offers Split-payment Option for Conference Registrations
Members attending the STC Summit may choose to spread their registration payment by paying half with their registration form and half onsite. “It’s a small gesture,” explained STC Executive Director Susan Burton, “but being able to spread the cost of the conference over two billing cycles can be helpful to many whose budgets are already stretched.”
This option is available to all members* in good standing, upon request. Members should download a PDF of the conference registration form (on conference webpage) and either mail or fax the form to Julia O’Connor at +1 (703) 522-2075 (payments are manually processed by staff and cannot be completed by the applicant online). Payments must be made by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, or AMEX). Checks cannot be accepted for split payments. Members make two equal payments, half collected with registration and half to be paid onsite. (This potentially spreads member’s payment over two different credit card cycles.)
Conference Reminders:
Early Bird Rate Extended: Still time to get a great deal on Tech Comm Summit 2009! The Early Bird registration rate has been extended to members through 21 April.
Save More $$$ on Hotel Room: Members who wish to share hotel rooms in the Hyatt Regency Atlanta have begun to match themselves on the STC Forum. The discounted hotel room rates for the conference have been extended until 15 April.
